Celebrating Faith and Culture
Our unique institution perpetuates the Holy Father's inspirational teaching. The Cultural Center is a vibrant place where you can engage your mind, nourish your soul, illuminate your spirit and exchange ideas. The light-filled, modern building is home to cutting-edge audio-visual and computer technology in the five interactive galleries; breathtaking art exhibits from the collections of the Vatican Museums and special shows; thought-provoking lectures and scholarship in the Intercultural Forum; and very personal expressions of faith in the Papal and Polish Heritage Room, the Hands of Peace exhibit, the Gallery of Mary and the Chapel. "For two thousand years, the Church has been a leading force in Western history. Today, visitors to the Pope John Paul II Cultural Center can discover the Church's past, participate in its present and, most importantly, join in building its Third Millennium. On behalf of the Pope John Paul II Cultural Center's Executive Committee, I cordially invite you to play a leading stewardship role in the ongoing development of the Cultural Center." Adam Cardinal Maida, Archbishop of Detroit Thousands of visitors of all ages have experienced the Cultural Center and we want to welcome many thousands more. Over the next few years we hope to accomplish a variety of projects and initiatives including: enhancing the visitor experience; ensuring the future crucial work of the Intercultural Forum; mounting exceptional art exhibitions; and harnessing all technologies available to bring the mission and message of the Cultural Center to the greatest number of people. The Cultural Center will continue to evolve, keeping pace with the complicated world in which we live. To have our message heard, we must nurture a strong presence and reputation for offering something unique and inspiring to people of all ages, ethnic backgrounds and denominations.
