The Pope John Paul II Cultural Center reopened its Papal and Polish Heritage Room to the public.  Never before seen photographs, video footage, artwork, and personal memorabilia from Pope John Paul’s childhood through his Papacy tells the story of the first Polish Pope and one of the World’s greatest spiritual leaders.  From the founding of Poland in 966 A.D., through the Jagiellonian dynasty to the Second World War and Communist occupation, the Pope John Paul II Cultural Center explores the roots that fanned the flames of greatness, and led Poland’s favorite son to become everyone’s favorite Pope. The valiant nation that shaped the character of Karol Wojtyla has endured much and has triumphed because of a faith and determination that came to rest on the shoulders of this humble man from Wadowice. The Cultural Center also proudly unveils two additional areas of interest, the “Gallery of Mary” and the “Pathway of Life Gallery,” both results of the travels and world wide impact of Pope John Paul II. Now, the entire main floor of the Center is dedicated to the man who led our Catholic Church for 27 years. The Pope John Paul II Cultural Center is located at 3900 Harewood Road NE, Washington D.C. 20017 and is adjacent to the Catholic University of America.  The Center is open on Tuesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday from 10 a.m. – 5 p.m. and on Sundays from 12 noon - 5 p.m.
